Well, hey, hopefully 2006 will shape up to be an outstanding year for dark music. I'm especially looking forward to the releases by Covenant, Depeche Mode, Skinny Puppy, and of course Sisters of Mercy. I'm sure I'll be disappointed by some of it, but there's always hope that one classic will make up for the rest of it that isn't... From side-line.com : Side-Line gathered a new list of upcoming releases for the next few months, and they look rather juicy! Mind though that this is just a short list and that releasedates can be subject to change. January knocks off with brand new releases from De/Vision ("Subtkana" CD), Covenant ("Ritual Noise" EP), APB ("Shine On" MCD), Pride & Fall ("Elements of Silence") and the return 2CD album by Leaether Strip ("After the devastation" 2CD). This is good news. I'll be interested in seeing what these guys come out with in 2006. I know Bon Harris had worked with Billy Corgan, of Smashing Pumpkins fame, on his solo album. And McCarthy had done the work with Fixmer/McCarthy somewhat recently. So between the two of them hopefully they will be back in good form... "Nitzer Ebb have announced that their relation with their former label has been put back to normal. Douglas McCarthy: "We are both back in close communication with everyone at Mute and Daniel. In fact the first person I went seeing after I had met with Bon in Chicago was Daniel Miller at Mute. We are working very closely now with the label for the release of the 'Body of work' compilation." Does this mean that the issues the band had with Mute are now solved? "Oh yeah, yes, definitely. I mean at this point it has not even been discussed what would happen if we would have a new album coming up [but...] I have already submitted artwork
